Why have you rebranded the company?
Sonepar is the name of our parent company. Sonepar acquired Electroskandia in the early 2000 and in 2009, it expanded the operations of ESK China to India, naming the new entity ESK India to support its Telecom customers in India. Since then ESK India has grown multifold with 3 business verticals, Telecom , Automation and Integrated Supply becoming a 50 M Euro Company in 2018.
The Sonepar India name and brand identity signal the beginning of an exciting era for our company and our customers, one in which we combine what made ESK India and move forward as a single leader in B-to-B distribution of electrical products, services and related solutions with expanded scope and presence across India. Rebranded as Sonepar India will better reflect the Sonepar Group’s sharing values, vision and mission.
Why now?
Since we created ESK India in 2009, we’ve been focused on developing Sonepar’s business in India, following the Sonepar Group’s sharing values, knowledge, best practices, processes and solutions. We are now at a stage where we are rapidly growing at a rate of 30% year on year expanding into Sonepar’s various business verticals globally. We are now launching our new brand as the next step in our ongoing evolution as a company. The Sonepar name as a global leading brand recognizes our accomplishments, reinforces our leadership and positions us for future growth.
What does the Sonepar India brand encompass?
The company formerly known as ESK India Commerce and Trade Private Limited is now rebranded as Sonepar India. Sonepar India will be the brand for all our portfolio of products and solutions.
What does “Sonepar” mean?
Sonepar name comes from “SOciété de NEgoce et de PARticipation”, which means company of trading and of shareholding.
What is changing and what is remaining the same?
What is currently changing is only the company’s name from ESK India Commerce and Trade Pvt. Ltd. to Sonepar India Pvt. Ltd. with no change in its leadership, organization structure or its ethos and values.
All our relevant details like GST & PAN Number remain same. On 10th Oct’19 you’ll be able to see our new website at www.soneparindia.com and our email domain will be changed to @www.soneparindia.com. Irrespective all company associates will continue to receive mails addressed to the old domain without any disruption for next couple of months.
What happens to my open orders on ESK India Commerce and Trade Pvt Ltd? Do I need to amend the same?
There is no necessity of amendment and those orders will be serviced without any delay. We will invoice the same in the name of Sonepar India Private Limited (Formerly known as ESK India Commerce and Trade Pvt Ltd) from 10th October 2019.
Will my account team remain the same?
Absolutely. Nothing is going to change from an operations or people perspective; the account teams here will remain the same. You can continue to rely on them; they are your partners, intimately aware of your business and the challenges you face.
What is the legal name of the company?
The full legal entity name is Sonepar India Pvt. Ltd. We will be invoicing in the name of Sonepar India Pvt Ltd. (Formerly known as ESK India Trade and Commerce Private Limited.)
Why are you using Sonepar India as the company name?
We chose the name because Sonepar sees itself as a proactive solutions provider by its customers globally, engaged in the B-to-B distribution of electrical products, services and related solutions.
Does it mean the Sonepar businesses in different countries are combining?
No. The companies in other countries will continue to operate as separate entities based in their own countries, with their existing product lines and solutions. Strategically, we will work together with them to enhance our multi-national customer relationships.
Do your Statutory Numbers like GST etc. remain the same?
As per Indian Government Laws, GST number will not change, and it remains the same.
Will you still accept payments in the name of ESK India Commerce and Trade Pvt Ltd as it may take some time to change the same in our system?
We will accept payments in the name of ESK India Commerce and Trade Pvt Ltd till the name change to Sonepar India Pvt. Ltd. is reflected in your system and we expect this to be incorporated in next couple of months.
